Matthew ventured to the CEO’s private elevator, descending straight to the ground floor.
As he arrived in the lobby, he noted an elevator across from him, its indicator lights descending.
He had timed his departure well.
However, anxiety crept in. He was about to encounter Stella, but how could he make it appear accidental?

Stella stood within, her expression registering pure astonishment.
“Mr. Clark, you haven’t left yet?”
“I was just on my way,” Matthew replied with a calm demeanor.

“I can easily catch a taxi. You don’t need to trouble yourself.”

Observing the flabbergasted look on Stella’s face, he added, “I’ve heard there have been recent reports of thieves in the area. It’s not safe for you to head home so late.”
At the mention of potential thieves, Stella gazed apprehensively into the night, her eyes filled with trepidation.
She bit her lip, conceding, “Thank you for offering to drive me home.”
Matthew couldn’t help but feel gratified by her agreement.
